About us
Who are we?
We are 'Youth Anchoring Youth', a student-led initiative aiming to make academic tutoring more accessible and enjoyable for youth in Aotearoa with our motto "Say "YAY" For No Pay!" We offer a wide range of subject selections, taught by a a carefully selected team of student-leaders who are passionate about empowering the education of younger learners.
What is our mission?
We've discovered through statistics that cross-aged tutoring is more beneficial for the child than adult tutoring. Therefore, our mission is to provide academic support for those in need without strain to your budget or transport. We will do this by providing guidance from experienced and knowledgeable mentors without cost concerns.

Juliet Jackson • Co-Founder
Kia ora friends, I'm Juliet. I have been a student at St Cuthbert's College since Year 8, currently going on Year 12. Considering that many youth don't receive the same level of education that we receive, we find it imperative to share our knowledge with those who are disadvantaged and encounter learning difficulties. Youth Anchoring Youth has been established to narrow the differences so each of us stand on equal ground.
Lisa Wei • Co-Founder
Kia ora koutou, I'm Lisa. I've attended St Cuthbert's College since Year 7, currently going on Year 12. Throughout my time there, I have discovered the value of education and the limitless opportunities it brings. Accordingly, my attention has been brought to the ongoing educational disparity in Aotearoa where the value-to-cost ratio does not justify the expense. Hence, we have decided to bridge that gap by catering an accessible academic mentoring programme to youth in the area.
